It’s all in the Details!
5 Things We Loved About This Great Gatsby Wedding
A while back, we performed at a Great Gatsby themed Wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado, and it was beautiful. All the little details added up to a wonderful event. Here are 5 of our favorites
1. The newspaper.
The bride and groom had us collaborate with their photographer to design a newspaper with their wedding as the headline. The headline read “Wedding of the Century” and was passed out by our “newsies”. This newspaper was passed out to their guests as an adorable memento. The newspaper had details including fun stories from how the couple met, their family histories, and more.
2. The “Newsies”.
We had our dancers dress up in 1920’s reporter and news boy outfits to reflect the theme of the event. As reporters, the newsies treated each guest as a celebrity as they entered the reception hall. It added a fun touch that reflected the theme. Each guest that entered felt like the center of the show – it left an impression that lasted!
3. The Decor.
The ballroom was draped in crystals and orchids, reflective of the lavish parties thrown in the 1920s. The dance floor was black and white, and had the last name of the newly married couple inscribed in the center. The incredible attention to detail from top to bottom really helped immerse guests in the experience, and we have our amazing vendors to thank for helping capture such an intricate vision.
4. The Attire.
Our brides all have exquisite taste, and this one was no different. The bride was in a beautiful corseted gown and the groom in a classic black and white tux, and her bridesmaids were in equally decadent dresses that beautifully accented the bride and groom. The guests were also dressed to the nines in ball gowns and tuxes of their own. No one was out of character, just one more detail that made this wedding amazing.
5. The Performance.
We choreographed a special musical performance for this wedding titled “A Little Party” inspired by the recently released remake of The Great Gatsby. With flappers, b-boys, and a big band, it was a performance everyone loved that captured the essence of a 1920’s bash. Don’t just take our word for it, check out the video here:
